Dedicated wiring for modern cars
Most cars built in roughly the last 15 years need a dedicated (vehicle-specific) wiring kit rather than a universal one. A dedicated kit plugs into the car's own connectors so it works with the CANbus, keeps parking sensors and trailer stability working, and avoids the warning lights a universal kit can trigger.
Coding
Many German and Swedish makes (BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes, Volvo) also need software coding after fitting, to switch on the trailer functions and stability programme. Leicester fitters with the right diagnostic tools can code most makes, on site if it is a mobile job.
