Fixed Towbars

Fixed towbars are permanently mounted to your vehicle and offer a reliable, cost-effective towing solution. They're ideal for drivers who tow regularly and don't mind the towball being visible when not in use.

Types of Fixed Towbars

Flange Ball (Bolt-on Towball)

The traditional fixed towbar design with a separate towball bolted to a flange plate.

  • Towball can be removed (leaving the neck visible)
  • Height can be adjusted with drop plates
  • Compatible with most accessories
  • Most economical option

Swan Neck Fixed

A sleeker design with the towball integrated into a curved neck.

  • More streamlined appearance
  • Works well with AL-KO stabilisers
  • Towball cannot be removed
  • Slightly more expensive than flange

Advantages of Fixed Towbars

  • Lower cost: Most affordable towbar option
  • Always ready: No need to attach anything before towing
  • Simplicity: Fewer moving parts, less to go wrong
  • Durability: Robust and long-lasting

Considerations

  • Towball always visible (may affect aesthetics)
  • May interfere with rear parking sensors
  • Can be a hazard to shins when loading the boot!

Best For

  • Regular towers (weekly/monthly use)
  • Budget-conscious buyers
  • Commercial vehicles
  • Drivers not concerned about rear-end appearance
